The How and Why

For years, Dr. Michael Keenan has been practicing implant dentistry and has been an advocate in stepping forward in the name of progression, mainly to discover, develop and provide the highest standards in dental care. Implant dentistry represents one aspect of this belief. 

Now that implant dentistry has reached a level of appropriate research, development and success rates, the hurdle to now overcome is the globally accepted and standard practice of integrating implants into everyday dentistry. Dr. Keenan knew, that to overcome this, education was the key, for
practitioners and the general public alike. In the spring of 1996, the concept of this site was born and in the beginning, it was thought that it would just supply a small amount of the education needed, but has been more successful than ever conceived. With the expodential growth of the internet,
computer users and its increasing integration into our daily lives, the traffic to this site has been phenomenal and far beyond our initial expectations.

In response to the many requests for referrals and more information from prospective patients, we decided to create additional features and areas of the site, one being the doctor referral section. This has been a very successful compliment to new patient flow for a lot of the practitioners on the list,
however, the doctors with the most response from this list, were the ones with e-mail links. We attribute this to the access to convenient, instant contact with the doctor's office of the patient's choice. For this reason, it is strongly suggested, and may be required in the future, to provide an e-mail contact with each listing. In addition, if a doctor has a web site of his/her own, a link can be added to it along with their listing.

Our ultimate goal is educating the public of their highest dental treatment options available today and delivering just that. One of the most effective methods of achieving this is by the combined efforts of all dentists with the same goal at hand and networking to share knowledge and experience to
create the highest standard of dental practice.

The yearly administration fee to participate in the referral list is $50 for one year, $90 for two and $130 for 3 years. If you would like to contribute an article, just indicate your topic and we will send details to you by e-mail.
